Actively reduce your stress levels
It is important to find ways to destress every day and especially during stressful times. This may be taking a walk, exercising, changing locations, going outside, reading, listening to music or other activities you find relaxing.

If you are a victim of Domestic or Intimate Partner Violence Seek Help
The Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence is a private charitable organization that works as the statewide professional association for the state of Florida’s 42 certified domestic violence centers which serve all 67 counties. These centers proved emergency shelters and programs and services for domestic violence survivors and their children.

Victims can also call the National Domestic Violence Hotline 24 hours a day at 800-799-7233. Victims in Central Florida can contact the Harbor House, a 24-hour confidential crisis hotline, at 407-886-2856.

Domestic and Intimate Partner Violence covers a wide range of crimes.
Because domestic violence crimes vary, the penalties for domestic violence also vary. Penalties will be based on the crime committed, if the defendant has any prior offenses, or if there were any children present when the crime was committed.

The charges could be a misdemeanor or felony with the possibility of jail time, fines, required counseling, or restraining prohibiting the defendant from having contact with his/her victim. The convicted defendant could have their concealed weapon permit revoked or lose the right to own, possess or use a firearm.

Being convicted of domestic violence goes on your record and may prevent you from obtaining employment in some fields.
